Driven by Instinct and Insatiable Thirst

You may not have found
What you expected to find
When you arrived here
As a tiny infant
Wailing, or silent,
Driven by instinct and insatiable thirst
Programmed with ancient longings
And the need for love, for comfort, and warmth.

We are hungry
For the things we were not given
And are seeking
The things that have been taken from us
Through a series of deliberate actions and also unforseen and unfortunate events

We are wanting
A life
Imbued with meaning and thick with magic
Fierce in its ability
To awaken our senses
To raise us from our slumber
To kiss the sleep dust from our eyes

We are waiting
For the right moment
To put the past behind us
In such a way
That it serves to move us forward
And no longer holds us back
From our true nature
And the fullfillment of our dreams

We are asking
Not for permission
Or for blessings
But for stories
And tales
Of such epic bravery
That our own chests rise and fall
With a new sense of passion
And courage.

We are ready
To step out into the sun
Wailing or silent,
Programmed with ancient longings,
Driven by instinct and insatiable thirst.

We are seeking
The things that have been taken from us.

Through a series of deliberate actions And also unforseen and unfortunate events,

We are going

To take them back.
